Draculaura - Princess Odette

So I have decided to give in my passion and get the Monster High by Mattel dolls. So far, I have a few an I'm just randomly inspired to create photographic projects with them so here is a few of the first serious one !

The Swan Lake!

I always loved this ballet, I seen all the animated versions, I seen a couple of ballet editions (Brittish Ballet, Swedish Ballet, French Ballet, American Ballet, Russian  Ballet !) and I always wanted to shoot the story. I even started to re-write the fairy tale, in a search to find reasons as to the many "why" that were bumping me with question marks.

So first, a little introduction of Draculaura.

Odette, uncertain about her new shape as a swan, tries to take position to take flight, but it's difficult.



Odette is already a little more confident here, spreading her wings



Finally, she is really ready to face her doubts and fears and try that first flight

Even in her box she is drop dead gorgeous and it did take me a while before gathering the will to open her box.



The face sculpt is quite incredible for a doll this scale - considering, she is only 11 inches tall -- 27.9 cms



And like all BJDs and most of the articulated fashion dolls, she has glass eyes. She is not a BJD in the technical sense of the term, since she is not made from resin, but she is pretty cute and well made for a doll her range and price.
